Genre and Trigger List

When BookRoar started, we only had a dozen or so authors actively looking for books to read and review. It made sense back then to have all our members scan through the Review Pool to see what was available, as it gave everyone an equal opportunity to be selected.

Now, however, our continued growth means people don’t want to scan through every book to find one in a genre they want to read. That’s why we are working on a genre filtering system so our users can define their criteria and have BookRoar only show them books which may be of interest to them.

Here are the proposed list of genres we intend to filter books by. We don’t want to go too narrow into sub-genres, as something which is so niche may be overlooked if someone wasn’t looking at that exact category. We need to get the balance between ‘wide’ and ‘narrow’ just right.
